What some of our recent graduates are saying...
I have worked as a Midwife with women during pregnancy, childbirth and post natal for 20 years. I have also been a yogini for many years completing my own Yoga teacher training last year. It has been my dream to share my love of Yoga and the many benefits with women in pregnancy. IYTA’s Pre and Post natal Yoga teacher training is outstanding in its content, broad knowledge base, focus on safety and methods of learning. The recent 4 day residential shared with other students, experienced lecturers and facilitators was a lovely way to live and learn together in a peaceful retreat centre. The variety of weekend workshops, on-line lectures, videos and workbooks are all thoroughly researched and well prepared for self directed and face to face learning. I recommend IYTA Pre and Post Natal training to anyone who wishes to teach Yoga to women during this most special time of their lives.

I enrolled in the IYTA Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Course as soon as I knew I was pregnant and it was completely worth it.
During my pregnancy I gained the knowledge of all the changes I was going through; not only physically, but also emotionally and spiritually. It gave me a detailed understanding of each trimester and the tools to modify my yoga practice, helping me to enjoy every aspect of my pregnancy and to connect with my little girl on a deeper level. It also built my confidence and prepared my body for her birth.
Now, after the birth of Zahana Tara, I am practicing all I learnt from the Postnatal course, I started a gentle Postnatal Yoga practice and I am giving baby massages to Zahana, which she enjoys.
The Prenatal yoga classes that I have taught, were extremely fulfilling. The mothers-to-be were very grateful and the environment was full of love and connection. What can be more rewarding than helping pregnant women to bring a new life into this world?
I highly recommend the IYTA Prenatal and Postnatal course to every pregnant women and even more to Yoga Teachers, as it gives you an immense knowledge of pregnancy, birth and postnatal and how to customise your yoga class to suit a pregnant women in all levels (koshas) psychical, mental, emotional and spiritual.

I am thrilled that I chose the IYTA Yoga Teacher Training Course. The depth of experience in meditation has also given us a huge advantage as teachers - most yoga courses don’t require that kind of diligence.
I’ve made some lifelong friends, I feel I’m part of a large, warm, like-minded community, and my whole way of living and relating to myself and others has changed for the better because of this course. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
I have gained many great practical tools from my IYTA training. Everybody is so unique and being able to offer modifications to postures to enable students, is the highlight of my work and a great asset IYTA has given me. The IYTA lectures have so much passion for the specialties they teach and their assignments really challenged me in a positive way; which in turn give me a whole new prospective of my yoga practice. I would recommend this course to anyone looking for a holistic approach to the study of yoga.
Others from Darwin travel interstate or to Bali to complete intensive yoga teacher training but I really wanted to do a more in-depth training over a longer period at the same time as integrating more yoga into my everyday life. The IYTA correspondence course was perfect for achieving those goals. The assignments made me truly practice yoga in many ways - morning pranayama and mediation, being present and aware while at work, managing my family well, and more. Overall it deepened my ability to practice yoga both on and off the mat; this is a valuable gift in my life.
Studying the IYTA Diploma of Yoga Teacher Training was an amazing experience that reinforced my practice and deepened my knowledge and understanding of yoga. It taught me not only yoga poses, anatomy and physiology; but the philosophy of yoga and this part was specially life changing. I am now a Qualified Yoga Teacher and have the honour and joy to teach my students yoga poses and all the life’s tools I have learnt. The IYTA Diploma of Yoga Teacher Training is great if you want to be a Yoga Teacher; or to improve and reinforce your personal yoga practise; or for your personal development or for all the above!
I was first introduced to Yoga 15 years ago. A wonderful teacher came to our office and taught lunchtime classes. I looked forward to the class each week and I felt great after each class. I wanted to learn more - the history, the philosophy, the physiology, the meaning of yoga. I signed up to the IYTA Diploma of Yoga Teacher Training, and I thoroughly enjoyed the course. It was comprehensive and challenging at times, but I was so proud of myself for completing it. I have continued my studies and enrolled in the IYTA Pre and Post Natal course this year.
I would like to express my gratitude in the efficiency of how IYTA is run. All questions I had over the last year were answered quickly and reassuringly and the efficiency in the time frame of receiving assignments and exam results has been amazing and wonderful. Thank you to you and to all the others involved in making this course a very enjoyable and nurturing way to study and grow. Looking forward to more future studies with IYTA.
A beautiful, cohesive course broken down into an easily accessible learning process - four modules was so easy to manage and a fantastic level of support and professionalism. Thank you.

The quality of the teachers at IYTA for the Diploma of Yoga Teaching in 2016 were outstanding. Each study weekend, I built confidence and developed my skills.
After I graduated, from my very first class as a teacher, I was able to observe students as I moved around the class ; offering them modifications or aligning their posture. Since then, each class has helped me to fine-tune my individual way of teaching and today I teach up to 7 to 10 classes each week.
Being inspired by my mentor (Astrid Pickup) helped me with my personal goals and motivation to continue and improve. I have found after a year of teaching that I now have my own individual style and I am able to read correctly my student’s posture and assist them in perfecting it. The best reward I have at the end of a class is a big smile with a heart-felt thank you. Students are returning on a regular basis to my classes and the sizes of my classes are also increasing. THANK YOU IYTA for your guidance in my Yoga path!
I'm passionate about living a holistic, healthy lifestyle and have first hand experience on how and why Yoga can help to cultivate a healthy mind and body. It's my desire to share my knowledge, experience and benefits of Yoga with my students. I chose the IYTA Diploma of Yoga because of its in-depth curriculum. I wanted to go beyond asana and class planning to gain knowledge for myself to answer the how and why questions of how I had personally benefited from a 12 year yoga practice.
I am, to say the least, ecstatic [that] I have completed the Diploma! I now want to teach which is a big surprise, as I had no intention of doing this when I signed up for the Diploma. My goal was to learn as much as I could and totally immerse myself into Yoga for the year. I can't speak highly enough about the structure & delivery of the whole course and am making sure I tell anyone who will listen. Although nothing beats face-to-face learning I didn't at all feel like I was missing out because of the way the course was structured & when I watched the videos I felt like I was there anyway.

What a journey; what a fantastic institution to study with. I had no idea how exceptional IYTA was/is until I began to meet teachers from other institutions. Thank you for being a part of this journey and to IYTA for changing the direction of my life forever.
