Join two of Australia’s most experienced pre and post-natal specialists on this exciting two-day workshop focused on safely including a pregnant women or new mother in a general yoga class with a variety of appropriate poses, practice and pranayama.

Day One - Pregnancy Yoga: discover how yoga can ease the top five common pregnancy complaints including: backache (including sciatica), digestive disorders, insomnia, pelvic pain (including SPD) and swelling. You'll also discover how to adapt common yoga postures for pregnancy.

Day Two - Post-natal Yoga: discover how yoga can ease the top five common postnatal issues such as: exhaustion, post-natal depression and anxiety, diastasis recti (abdominal separation), pelvic floor weakness and tight neck and shoulders. Plus an into to baby massage.

This two-day workshop is a MUST for every yoga teacher and health care practitioner, it is also suitable for pregnant women and/or new mums to discover in a safe, supportive environment how to best care for themselves and their babies.

You'll learn no much to help yourself and your students from two of the country's most experienced pre and post-natal teachers Julia Willoughby and Katie Brown.

About the Instructors

Julia Willoughby

Julia Willoughby

Julia Willoughby trained with IYTA in 1999 and has since specialised in pre and post natal yoga which is her passion. Training as a Childbirth Educator deepened her knowledge and skills and she has had the privilege of attending many births over the years. Her love of working with pregnant women began with her massage therapy training in San Diego and by taking one of the first trainings for pre and post natal massage. She has taught massage and prenatal massage at Nature College for many years before moving to Canberra to set up her own business. Her favourite area of teaching is preparing women for an Active and empowered birth.

Katie Brown

Katie Brown

Katie is a senior yoga teacher with 23 years' experience. She teaches a range of classes from general to pre and post-natal yoga, mums and bubs yoga, chair yoga and yoga for special needs. She trained with IYTA in 2000-1 and lectures on both the IYTA's Teacher Training Course and the IYTA's Pre and Post Natal Yoga Teacher Training Course.

Katie is also a qualified massage therapist (ITEC), Infant massage educator (IMA), doula (Optimum birth) and has done trainings in Children's Yoga (Zenergy Yoga) is a qualified Laughter Yoga Teacher and has studied Yin 1, Yin 2 and Yin 3 with Sarah Manning. She has also produced three DVDs, two CDs and an online yoga and massage program for the Huggies website, and is also the author of: Mother Me – a mum's guide to balance, wellbeing and harmony.
